Both directions

We run this corridor each way.

India to Australia

For Indian exporters, export councils and state trade bodies reaching Australian buyers.

  • The India-Australia trade agreement has cut duty on a wide range of Indian goods, which changes the landed-cost maths enough to reopen categories that did not previously work.
  • A concentrated buying base: a small number of national retail and food-service groups carry a large share of volume, so the target list is short and reachable.
  • Biosecurity is the strictest of any market we run. It is not a formality, and it is where unprepared exhibitors lose their samples.

Australia to India

For Australian brands and producers seeking Indian distribution, agents or channel partners.

  • Australian exporters to India lead in agribusiness, education, mining technology and clean energy, all of which are long-cycle and relationship-led.
  • Time zones actually help: an Australian team can hold same-day meetings with Indian counterparts in a way European exporters cannot.
  • Indian buyers already associate Australia with food safety and provenance, which shortens the credibility conversation.

  • Food & beverage

  • Education & training

These are where we see the shortest route to a first order. They are not a restriction: the delegation and pavilion work is sector-agnostic, and what we test is whether a real buyer base exists for your category in Australia.

Also going the other way?

Delegations into India work from New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad, on an Indian e-Business Visa or Business Visa.

The paperwork

Visas and customs for Australia.

01

Visitor visa, subclass 600, business visitor stream

Delegates travel on a subclass 600 visa in the business visitor stream, which permits exhibition attendance and negotiation but not work. Processing is generally quicker than the US route, though documentation quality drives outcomes more than it does elsewhere.

02

Samples, freight and customs

ATA Carnet is accepted, but biosecurity is the binding constraint. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry applies strict controls to food, plant material, timber, packaging and anything that has been in contact with soil. Samples are planned around those rules from the start, and some are better sourced in-market than shipped.

We are not immigration advisers or customs brokers. We prepare and coordinate the documentation, work with licensed brokers at both ends, and own the schedule, including enough slack for one thing to go wrong without the stand standing empty.

How it runs

Brief to report, one lead.

  1. 01

    Brief

We take the objective before the format. What has to be true after this event that is not true now: a listing, a distributor, a launch date met, a room that renews next year.

  2. 02

    Proposal

A written scope with a costed budget, a venue or show shortlist, a date-by-date plan and a clear statement of what sits with us and what stays with you.

  3. 03

    Build

Contracting, design, production, permissions and paperwork. You get one project lead and a single schedule, not four suppliers with different versions of the truth.

  4. 04

    Delivery

Our crew is on site from install to derig. Whatever happens on the day is ours to solve; you should be talking to guests, buyers and press.

  5. 05

    Report

Numbers and outcomes against the original objective, plus the assets, the lead list and an honest note on what we would change next time.

Questions

India to Australia, answered.

What makes Australian biosecurity harder than other markets?

The scope of it. The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry controls not only food and plant material but packaging, timber, and anything that has been in contact with soil, and it applies those rules to exhibition samples exactly as it does to commercial imports. We plan the sample list against biosecurity from the first scoping call, and sometimes the right answer is to source display stock in Australia rather than ship it.

Has the India-Australia trade agreement changed what is worth exporting?

Materially, yes. Duty reductions across a wide range of Indian goods have improved landed cost enough to reopen categories that previously could not compete on shelf. Part of our scoping is re-running that maths for your specific product rather than assuming the pre-agreement position still holds.

Which Australian trade shows should an Indian delegation target?

Fine Food Australia is the principal food-service and retail route and alternates between Sydney and Melbourne. Naturally Good covers health and organic categories, and AUSPACK serves packaging and processing machinery. Australia's buying base is concentrated, so a well-prepared appointment diary often matters more than the size of the stand.
